Peraton’s commitment to supporting the American Heart Association (AHA) and promoting heart health is deeply ingrained within our culture. For nearly a decade, our organization has been an unwavering ally in the fight against heart disease, raising over $3 million, donating countless volunteer hours, and fostering a culture of compassion and teamwork.
The initiative began with our participation in the annual AHA Heart Walk, which has become a cornerstone of our company’s community involvement. Each year, hundreds of employees come together to support this vital cause, but our dedication extends far beyond the walk. Personal stories and connections, such as those from our event coordinator, who discovered a heart defect and carries a family history of heart disease, have inspired even greater passion and urgency within our team. Many employees, including our chief communications and engagement officer, have experienced the devastating loss of loved ones to heart issues, making our commitment to AHA even more meaningful.
Last year, Peraton set a new fundraising record, raising over $85,000 for the Heart Walk. We were recognized as one of the top 10 companies in our region, and our employees logged the most steps in the “Move More” activity challenge. Beyond fundraising, Peraton also hosts CPR training events and participates in National Wear Red Day to raise awareness about heart disease.
