Peraton’s NASA Sounding Rockets Operations Contract (NSROC) team was recognized for the Contractor Excellence Award at the annual Wallops Flight Facility (WFF) Peer Awards ceremony. Since 1999, Peraton has supported nearly 500 launches and helped NASA achieve its goal to provide low-cost access to space. In any given year, Peraton conducts up to twenty sounding rocket missions with over forty running simultaneously in different phases of the lifecycle
The Contractor Excellence Award recognizes a group, or individual contactor employee, that significantly impacted the WFF mission. NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility is the organization’s premier site for sub-orbital and small orbital flight projects, Earth science research, and technology development.
During the ceremony, NASA recognized the NSROC team for going above and beyond to help the customer achieve full mission success at a new remote range in Australia. The team also developed a state certified machining apprenticeship program to maintain a pipeline of highly qualified, skilled employees, and successfully procured critical stock on mission hardware while navigating global supply chain shortages.
“This prestigious award recognition is an affirmation of how our capabilities and expertise are helping NASA deliver on its mission at the Wallops Flight Facility,” said Darin Skelly, vice president and general manager of Peraton’s Civil Space business unit. “We are proud to bring our expertise to the forefront and continue supporting this critical site to advance our nation’s innovations within space.”
