Jim Winner, chief legal officer and general counsel at Peraton, has been appointed to America’s Warrior Partnership Board of Directors. A former U.S. Air Force judge advocate and systems acquisition officer, Jim served for 12 years on active duty after his graduation from the U.S. Air Force Academy. He has served as Peraton’s general counsel and chief legal officer since 2017.
More than 3,000 military veterans, reservists, National Guard members, and their families call Peraton home. It is by design that Peraton’s first value is to honor those we serve, a responsibility we do not take lightly. Similarly, America’s Warrior Partnership collaborates with communities to advocate for veterans. As AWP Founder and CEO Jim Lorraine has said many times, his mission is simple, “to find our veterans, our wounded, and our injured, build a relationship with them, and advocate for them for life.”
In joining the AWP board of directors, Jim Winner noted his excitement and commitment, “I’m proud to play a small role in working with Jim Lorraine and AWP to support their remarkable efforts to advocate for America’s military veterans. Joining the board is just a continuation of my own mission at Peraton, a place I’m proud to say honors and is committed to the exact work of AWP.”
AWP’s Jim Lorraine welcomed Jim Winner, “From the first time I met Jim Winner, I saw his commitment to honoring those to serve, something I’ve dedicated my own life to doing. The AWP family is excited to have Jim on our team, and we continue to appreciate the long-standing partnership we have with the great folks at Peraton.”
Peraton is proud to include the AWP Corporate Veteran Initiative (CVI) as part of its benefits package. AWP’s CVI is a one-stop shop of veteran assistance and empowerment. Benefits of the CVI include:
- Educating veterans about free resources available
- Advocating for benefits and assisting with VA claims
- Making connections with local resources and kindred communities
- Providing 24-hour confidential peer support
