Artificial intelligence (AI) is part of our everyday lives – even when it comes to getting a job. For those who are seeking out talent, too, AI has become central to making sure they attract the right candidates.
Cari Bohley, Peraton’s vice president of Talent Management, spoke about the opportunities and challenges in using AI as part of a thought-provoking breakfast panel titled “The Future of Hiring: AI’s Role in Talent Sourcing and Acquisition.” Hosted by the Northern Virginia Technology Council and the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority, the panel featuring Bohley and other industry leaders explored how AI is reshaping the landscape of talent acquisition and employee experience.
The discussion centered on how the growing use of AI tools is transforming the workplace in ways that are both helpful and perilous to the employer and candidates alike. For example, Bohley spoke about how Peraton has seen success integrating AI tools, like SeekOut, into the talent acquisition lifecycle and to enhance employees’ career development. By integrating AI into the company’s HR processes, her team has been able to drive efficiency and improve the employee experience. These technologies have proven to be powerful force multipliers, enabling the Peraton team to attract and retain top talent by enhancing both the employer and candidate experiences.
The panel zeroed in on how AI can be a catalyst for growth of a company. If implemented thoughtfully, AI tools can make everyone’s lives easier – streamline recruitment, increase efficiencies, expedite the decision-making processes, and make room for strategic, human-forward hiring practices. However, if deployed without careful consideration, AI can inadvertently perpetuate existing biases and create barriers to entry, limiting a company’s potential.
“AI is not just a tool, but a strategic partner in shaping how we hire, retain, and support talent. We have witnessed firsthand how it’s elevated the employee experience which leads to organic business growth,” said Bohley during the discussion.
The event underscored the importance of balancing technological innovation with ethical responsibility, ensuring AI serves as a force for positive change in the hiring process. As more industries continue to leverage AI in the talent management practices, Peraton remains steadfast in its commitment to invest in technologies that enhance both employee engagement and long-term organizational growth.
